Unstampabelles Challenge No #19 January 2013

7th January 2013

This months Challenge is sponsored by Craft Mad.

For my design team card for this months challenge I have used a variety of dies and embossing folders.

For my base card I used a glossy white card blank from Blue Edge Crafts which I ran through the eBosser with a Couture Creations embossing folder called 'Flutterby Dreamscapes. I then coloured in the embossed areas with Copics selecting to use pale colours so they didn't overtake the doily topper I created.

For my topper I used for the base layer a Cheery Lyn doily die and cut Stampin Up's Bashful Blue card stock. onto this I layered a purchased white paper doily, then a flourish cut using a Cheery Lyn flourish die out of Stampin Up's 'Certainly Celery' card stock. over this went another die cut, this time I used Spellbinders Beaded Circles nested with one of the dies from Spellbinders Enhanceabilities pop up die called Flower Soft, the card used is a pearlesent card stock from Blue Edge Crafts which has a slight shimmer, once cut, I removed the flower soft die and embossed the beaded circle. Once embossed and before removing from the die, I sponged Stampin Up's Bashful Blue ink over the outside ring of beads. Then I sponged the leaves of the pop up section of the dye with Certainly celery ink, and petals of the flower with Bashful Blue.
The sentiment started life as a white sticker purchased from the Sticker Store, which I coloured with Staedtler permanent Lumocolor pen.
The butterfly is a triple layer, die cut using Cheery Lyn dies, the base is cut from Bashful blue and embossed with Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss Dots, the top two layers are the more detailed section of the die set, and cut from tissue paper, lightly sponged with Bashful blue, I then trimmed back the top layer, Close up you can see the three distinct layers. I finished off with Stampin Up self adhesive gems around the beaded section of the top layer and the centre of both the pop up flower and the body of the butterfly.

Recently I've not used my many, many dies as much as I should, so I really enjoyed foraging through my die boxes and coming up with this selection. The only reason I used a Paper Doily for one layer was because I had 1leftover. I've bought so many doily dies, I doubt I'll ever have to buy another doily. lol

I hope you enjoy this months challenge. Please take the time to check out Craft Mad it's a great crafting forum with some exceptionally talented crafters, and ideas abound. They are a very friendly to the crafters, but if you are spammer don't waste your time, Ian and Mandy are very vigilant in keeping rubbish from the site.

Hope you all have a wonderful, Safe, Happy and joy filled 2013.

Hugs,
Beth
