This is the prize on offer for the winner of this months challenge at Unstampabelles.
For my base card I used Kraft card by Stampin Up which I edged with Distress ink Vintage Photo, it gives the effect of another layer without the actual layer.
The blue layer is a scrap of blue metallic gift wrap.
The brown layer is packing paper used in my Stampin Up orders, I embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder, then used Distress embossing ink over the embossed image, then clear embossing powder, I repeated the ink, emboss 4 times, my aim was to create something which might look like dragon scales /skin.
the striped card behind the punched dragon and the sentiment, is from a box of chocolates.
The dragon is punched out of a scrap of blue bazzil card as is the backing for the peel off sentiment.
My first attempt at making paper beads wasn't a total disaster, (I googled paper beads, and came up with heaps of tutorials and videos to show me how to do them) I used normal 80gsm printer / copier paper, which was trimmed off the insert for another card, and then inked them with distress inks when finished.
I can honestly say this card is recycle personified. it's basic, frugal and oh so scrappy! lol
I'm really pleased with my ability to meet the requirements, I don't usually do 'frugal' cards
It looks a bit bowed in the photo due to it being a tent fold card. sorry about my lousy photography!
Pop over to Unstampabelles challenges and have a go!, you might even win yourself some goodies, and you gotta be in it to win it!
Happy Crafting
Hugs,
Beth
